Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

Suggest A Name HomeThis is a featured page

And the winner is: Blood, Sweat & Capital
(suggested by Michael Cader)
Thanks to everyone who participated!
Welcome to our site - and thank you for coming! We'd like your help in figuring out a cool name for our new healthcare company (like Amazon or Leprechaun). Please see "What We Are Looking For" for details about our company that may help you think of a great name here - as well as the prizes we are giving out to whomever suggests the name we ultimately pick! We decided to use a wiki (user-editable web site) for this process to (a) demonstrate how wikis work, and (b) let you see what other people are suggesting. This way you can both avoid duplication, and riff off other people's ideas.

In order to make a suggestion here, just click the "EasyEdit" button, and add your proposed names to the list below (and include your name so we know where the idea came from):

Note that you can either give us one suggestion for a name, for example:

  • Healthcare at Hogwarts (Albus Dumbeldore)

or, if you have several ideas to contribute, you can list them:

  • Fyodor Dostoyevsky
    • Life and Death
    • Another Healthcare Business
    • Healthcare Idea Partners

So .... go crazy (starting below), and thank you again for participating. Remember, to put your suggestions in, just click the "EasyEdit" button above.

Sean Straw

In a word: Pulse

An EKG image could serve as a logo, though you'd want to avoid associating that with a profitability chart... <g>

Keeping your finger on the pulse of the market, etc... Seems to identify what you're doing while at the same time being a health term.

The name itself can be used to rank the investments or technologies: high and low pulses (though of course, in true medical sense, a high pulse isn't wholly desireable -- a regulated one is).

So many ways you could use the name for branding of the company itself.

  • Newco Health (Newco sounded great when I read your lead in about what you want. It's a new kind of health company...plus it has a great back story "well when we were trying to name the company we put up "newco" as a placeholder to get ideas and then we realized it was a great name...")
Susan Williams

Mortar - As in 'mortar and pestle'. "Where we grind up good ideas and make something great."
Embryonic - Fairly self explanatory- the founding stages of great companies. A little obvious, perhaps.
Galapogos - Where Darwin made a few notable discoveries that informed the theory of evolution. It also just sounds fun- it rolls off the tongue nicely.
Harriet - Darwin's turtle's name.
Iterative Ventures - Playing on the concept of a great idea being shaped and formed, one iteration at a time.
Cherry Blossom - Something beautiful and powerful- the blossoming of a great idea. Something small becoming something big.
Elbow - Signifying the connection between a great idea and great execution.
